you have a question. we have an answer

What is a party code? Do I need it?

A party code is an 8-digit code that gives you access to the wine tasting app. When you purchase one of our tastings, you’ll receive the party code in your purchase confirmation email. Anytime you’d like to do a new tasting, you’ll need a new code.

If you’d like to get started, you can purchase a code here.

How many people can taste wines at the party?

We provide a small and a large option.

Small tastings can have between 6 and 9 people tasting and 6 to 9 wines being tasted.

Large tastings bump the maximum up to 20 people and 20 wines. You’ll still need a minimum of 6 tasters/wines.

Do I need to set a high price range for the wine my guests bring?

Set a price range you’re comfortable with. It’s been proven time and again that $30 bottles can compete and regularly beat $100+ bottles. Plus, setting a lower range means the competition can be stiffer. If you and your friends are regular wine drinkers, you may want to set your range a little higher.

Does everyone actually need to bring two bottles of the same wine?

Yes, one bottle is for the tasting and one bottle is for the prize at the end!

You can also pair up with another taster and bring wine together. But if you don’t pair up, you’ve got to bring your own.

How long does a wine tasting take?

2-3 hours

How does the app generate the tasting results?

The app takes the average score for each wine and uses that to determine the top 3 wines. Results are shown immediately after all the scores are entered.

Each person can get a customized summary of their tasting via email if they provide their email address.

What if I don’t know anything about wine?

Totally fine! This party is for everybody from sommeliers to folks who have only had wine by “slapping the bag” 🙂

What if wine isn’t exactly my favorite alcoholic drink?

That’s OK! You will only be tasting ~2oz of each wine to rate them. You’ll also have a bowl in front of you, called a spittoon, that is there just so you can spit wine into it. It’s literally part of wine tasting! Plus, you may find a wine you end up liking through this process 🙂

What’s in a party box?

We have three different levels of a party box. The first level is called ‘The Essentials’. This box includes the Wine Tasting Score Cards, Wine Bottle Covers and the labels for those wine bottle covers. The next level is called ‘The Wine-O’. It includes everything in the ‘The Essentials’ box as well as the tasting cups and the pens (the pens can be left on the tasting table so there is no need to go searching for pens… trust me we know how that goes). The top level is called ‘The Connoisseur’. It includes everything in ‘The Wine-O’ box plus branded party ready napkins and a wine opener (you will be opening a lot of bottles of wine, so having two openers going at the same time can speed up the process and help the event to flow better).

What if have less than 16-20 people coming to my wine tasting?

That’s OK! That just means you will have less wine to taste and potentially less teams. The party will run the same way, but will be a shorter party.

Do I have to buy a party box? Can I buy my own supplies?

No! Party codes are also sold separately if you want to buy your own supplies.

The party boxes are there to eliminate the burden of throwing a party. We have created three different levels of a party box, so there is sure to be one that meets your needs if you would rather not buy the supplies yourself.
